Weed Control
Pre-emergent weed control involves using herbicides to prevent weeds from germinating and growing in the first place.
These herbicides create a barrier in the soil that prevents weed seeds from sprouting, but they do not kill existing weeds.
This method is best used in areas where weeds have been a problem in the past or where weed seeds are likely to be present.
Pre-emergent weed control is most effective when applied in the early spring or fall, before the soil temperature reaches 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
Post-emergent weed control involves using herbicides to kill existing weeds that have already sprouted and are growing.
This method is most effective when used on young, actively growing weeds, and it can be used to target specific types of weeds.
There are two types of post-emergent herbicides: selective and non-selective. Selective herbicides target specific types of weeds, while non-selective herbicides will kill any plant they come into contact with. Non-selective herbicides should be used with caution around desirable plants.
